Castaway Cove Waterpark Using Well Water for 2014 Season - TopicsExpress

Castaway Cove Waterpark Using Well Water for 2014 Season Castaway Cove Waterpark retained an outside water hauling company to provide well water to the park during current drought conditions. With Stage 5 here now, Castaway Cove had been actively seeking alternative water sources to open the park for the 2014 season. The park will be hauling in between 6,000 to 9,000 gallons of well water per day to maintain the necessary water levels needed for operations during the season. To comply with the Texas Department of State Health Services, the wells that will be used have been tested at an independent lab over the course of the last few weeks to ensure the water meets state regulations. Four 3,000 gallon containers will be brought into the park to pre-treat the water prior to replenishing the daily water loss. For the summer, the hauling of water will cost the park around $70,000, which will be paid for from water park revenues. Ticket prices will remain the same as 2013. Since the start of drought restrictions in 2011, the park has taken great lengths to maximize water conservation. Conservation techniques are used to filter, treat and re-use water supplies to conserve water and maintain the highest level of the guest experience. Castaway Cove Waterpark opens to the public on May 24th for the 2014 season. Season passes are available for purchase and can be obtained online or at the guest services office.
