Catch phrase around the world in graphics All ordinary people, poets and politicians use idioms to describe a particular situation. Sometimes the original, literal meaning is erased so that we cease to notice it. Foreigner, for example, would not understand why not pay for the trip which means to ride the hare. Short (sometimes quite strange if you think about it) phrases are for us a simple way to convey your emotions or attitude to anything without long explanations. No wonder that in every culture there is a rich diversity of its idiomatic expressions related to the history or character traits of its people.
