The Blessed Virgin Mary is the woman blessed among all others and chosen by God to become the Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God made man to save us. Thus, the Blessed Virgin Mary is truly Mother of God. 2. How is the Blessed Virgin Mary the Mother of God? The Blessed Virgin Mary is the Mother of God because Jesus Christ, her Son, born of her as a man, is not only true man, but also true God. 3. Why does the Catholic Church show great devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary? The Catholic Church shows great devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary in order to follow the example of God Himself who chose her to be His own Mother. 4. What are the four Mariological Doctrines? a.
