Cathalmet today our starting point, A cute little end of road fishing joint, Brekkie in the local,yummy yum, Then on the saddle that poor sore bum, Lets head on South away we go, We hope some miles from the pedal flow, After only 5 miles got on Westport ferry, Still very early but all quote merry, End of the boat ride,Washington done, Now into Oregon,a new State to have fun, First steps in Oregon mrs.Huff caught a whopper! With Donalds help a chinook show stopper, At Astoria Safeways we met the lasses, But couldnt see them coz Ive lost my glasses, Heard from miles away,oh what a din, Hundreds of seals,some fat and some thin, Quite scary,not sure what theyre all doing, Fighting or mating or peeing or pooing!! Millionaires biking up in the hills, Over 40mph coming down,big roller coast thrills, A hundred was planned,our target to reach, But then we arrived at Cannon Beach, A sandy paradise upmarket town, So sadly today the mileage was down, Long lunch at Driftwood plenty of wine, Merged into dinner way after nine, Our first proper view of Pacific Ocean, Filled us all with much emotion, Like frivolous kids on the sand we played, For ever here wed loved to have stayed, To Hollie and Scott and Lindy and Norma, Thanks for the chat,mines a Korma, And as for Rover a moment well spare, To tell you that we still do care, So from us all I bid you goodnight , On a perfect day we turn out the light.
