Catholic Diocese of Nsukka Daily Reflection for Fri. 24th January, 2014 By Rev. Fr. Chinedum Asogwa. The issue of security concerns both the rich and the poor. We are often challenged by high insecurity in this country. In todays reading, God wants to console us by showing us that, he protects his people. Saul hand-picked three thousand men to search for one little boy – David. That David was not caught was not because of any juju or talisman, but because he had clear conscience and was planning no evil for his enemy. He trusted in the protection which God gives. If you have any other source of protection outside God, you will be disappointed like Saul who had all the men around him but could not be protected by them. The anointed of God are not ordinary people. When they err or annoy you, how do you handle them. Saul, the anointed of God was planning on how to do away with the life of David, but even when the life of Saul was delivered into the hands of David, he never killed him, simple because Saul was an anointed of God. How do you handle the anointed persons in your society even when they err? David said, I will not touch the anointed of God. What of you? Christ in the gospel showed the anointed to us - his apostles and their successors. May we act like David who never laid his hands on the anointed of God and let the anointed of God not act like Saul who planned to deal with one of his subjects. Let the live of Francis de Sale be the example that we copy. Like · · Share · 5 · 5 hours ago · 5 people like this.. Chinedum Asogwa Write a comment...
