God, however, does not allow Himself to be defeated: God himself takes the initiative to give a sign, in fact, a prophetic sign. He affirms that the sign that is given will reveal both his power and love: such a sign is the conception by a virgin. She would bear a son, who will be the presence of God amidst the people. The sign we know has become a reality in the person of Mary, who hearing the divine plan, entrusts herself to God and to the power of God’s Spirit.
