Cele Impressing Chiefs Teammates Following his promotion to the Kaizer Chiefs first team, it seems that midfielder, Philani Cele, is already impressing his new teammates. The 21-year-old, who has been in fine form for the club’s reserve side over the past few months, was recently promoted to the first team as Stuart Baxter looked to help speed up his development. The crew reported yesterday that Cele’s promotion was an indefinite one, and it is believed that he could soon find his way onto the Amakhosi bench and close to his PSL debut. During yesterday’s training session ‘Iniesta’ was singled out for praise by captain, Itumeleng Khune, for an impressive display, and received a round of applause from his fellow teammates. Cele, who is billed as a possible long-term successor to Siphiwe Tshabalala, put in a good shift during the recent Macufe Cup defeat to Bloemfontein Celtic, and with the recent injury to Lucky Baloyi, could soon find himself moving further up the Amakhosi pecking order.
