Celebrating Fall, Carroll County Farmers Market, September 28th Celebrating Fall is the new theme for the Carroll County Farmers Market scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Agricultural Center in Westminster, Maryland. The hours will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. 50 of the regular vendors will be on hand selling all local produce including apples, potatoes, sweet potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, watermelon, corn, pumpkins and more. The plant vendors will have mums of every color for sale. Fall decorations include wreaths, table center pieces, Indian corn, bunched corn stalks, gourds, small and large pumpkins, and much more. The food stands provide home baked goods, including cakes, pies, scones, cookies, breads, rolls and biscotti. You will also find jams and jellies, honey, nuts, and more. There will also be farm fresh eggs, Emu meats and products, and farm raised beef, pork, and lamb. Each week will offer an assortment of handmade crafts. Items available include seasonal decorations, fabric crafts, jewelry, photography, painted wood crafts and more. The cafeteria is open during market hours for breakfast and lunch. Pancakes and egg sandwiches are great for breakfast and don’t miss out on a slice of homemade pie or cake. Dolores and I love the fruit pies baked by Anita Bullock. Dolores slices the pies and freezes them for future desserts.
