Celebrating Small Business Week Donna Bradley, The Flower Mill Donna Bradley of The Flower Mill has owned her business for six years but is no stranger to Downtown Milton. For 24 years, she worked at the former Milton Greenhouses flower shop at the Main and Martin intersection. After her employer closed the business, she decided to go on her own and continue a family tradition. “My grandfather originally owned Milton Greenhouses. He sold it to my boss who I worked with for 24 years.” Bradley said. “My grandfather was all about the small town and went over and above for his customers.” Bradley’s business is built on the strong relationships she has with people in her community. Customers always come first for her. “I really care about my customers. I like the small town feeling.” said Bradley. Her family roots and community involvement means that she can connect with almost every customer who visits her store. She works hard at what she does. “I am married to my business and I usually work 7 days a week. It’s just me, but Sarah (my daughter) sometimes comes in to help.” Her secret to satisfying her clients is to treat every arrangement personally. “I make every arrangement like I was receiving it myself. That personal touch makes my clients feel special.” Bradley recently moved The Flower Mill from Mill Street to her current Main Street location. With the added traffic from both cars and pedestrians, Bradley is optimistic that her recent move to Main Street will pay off. She also hopes to extend her evening hours in the future to better accommodate new customers. The Flower Mill specializes in custom arrangements and offers a selection of cut flowers and charming gifts.
