“Cerebration 2014”, the long awaited two-day inter college technical extravaganza of ITM University, Gurgaon opened with a lot of promise and thrill. As the master engineers went about setting up their stalls, and displaying their innovations, their faces beamed with pride. The students were at their technical best, brimming with ideas and expectations and sharing their knowledge about the innovations they proudly presented to all the visitors at the fair. This technical bonanza pumped the students with adrenaline to all limits. The first day was dedicated to both the technical and the non-technical events. There were a total of 40 technical and 12 non-technical events presented. The fair was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Prem Vrat, who went around each stall and saw each innovation with interest. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Prem Vrat said, “This technical fest almost supplements the learning process…. The kind of enthusiasm and passion seen in the core committee members and all the people participating in this event is very encouraging……..I am sure that this two day event is going to be intellectually challenging, extremely rewarding and a great learning experience for our students.” The techno-management experience surpassed the expectations of all the participants and they were overjoyed by the response and were thrilled to be part of an event of this magnitude. The technical events consisted of events like tech expo, Lan Gaming, Robo Wars, Imagineering, Tech Junk, Error Terror, Man vs Compiler, Java Mania, Circuit o Mania, Sell the Design and a host of other events. The main highlights of Cerebration 2014 were the Tech Expo, the Auto Expo and the Robot Wars. The Tech Expo consisted of live projects by the University students, with many participants from colleges across NCR. The Auto Expo showcased modified cars with upcoming and latest technologies designed and presented by students and companies. The Auto Expo 2014 was a window for technology transfers showing how the Indian Automotive Industry was absorbing new technologies and promoting indigenous research and development for adapting these technologies for the rugged Indian conditions. The Robo Wars, as every year, was a major crowd puller. As the name suggests, it was the war of the robots that were designed by students themselves. The non-technical events consisted of events like Break the Pot, Air rifle, Movie screening, Treasure hunt, hit the wicket, tug of war, minute to win it, talent hunt, spell bee, poster making, Word mania and air gliding.
