Certain things remind me of ANINI of Bendel state fame. It was speculated then that he was invisible; he was the best driver in the world amongst other things. The attempt to capture Anini led to IBB embarrassing then IG, Etim Iyang on national TV, with the question, My friend, where is Anini? The attempt to arrest Anini almost cost then CP Akagbosus life amongst other things. Parry Osayande was brought in and it was rumoured that Parry operated out of Benin as he did not trust police officers in Benin. Why this story? Anini could not disappear shit! He operated on information delivered to him by Iyamu and co. Part of the strategy used by Parry was to disband the robbery squad and posted them away from the state. Parry knew his onions. Iyamu was sent to Niger state and thus the real beginning of the hunt for Anini. Finally, when Anuroruo got Anini, he virtually amputated his leg with gun shots. The rest is history. Strategies are important. This Boko haram nonsense is not too different from the terror of Anini.
