Chances Ive realized some things in life and become humble. Quite a while ago, when I was just a kid someone took a chance on me. My father. He loaned me the money to start a business. Looking back I honestly dont know why he did. It was risky. I was young, inexperienced, hardheaded etc. I was really just a punk kid. Hed lived out of state most of my childhood, we really didnt even know each other that good. But, he believed me when I came to him and told him I knew I could do it. Years have passed, Ive weathered some storms and some droughts but Im still standing. Ive been lucky, even through the hard times. I worked hard, tried to be smart with money and with the grace of God it all worked out. I used to think that people who failed were lazy or unintelligent or something. Ive seen a lot of hardworking, smart people not be so lucky. Smarter people than me that worked just as hard or harder. It made me realize just how lucky Ive been, even through the hard times. Instead of being bitter at the old man for not being around, Ive thankful for him being there when he was. I cant help but wonder where Id be if he hadnt done what he did. The picture that I imagine is not a pretty one. If I am proud of the fact that I did make good on the one chance I was given, the work didnt do itself. Some would have taken the money and laid up drunk etc. I am proud of that fact and I can safely say. No one ever took a chance on me and regretted it!
