Chapter 36: Sydneys POV It was about 7pm and Id finally got back home. I was out all day. Doing what? you ask? Searching for the b****** known as my mother. I mean, I figured that if my dad was still hanging around this town then its possible that she was, too. But I had no luck whatsoever in finding her. D***. Yeah, so I came home exhausted. I just wanted it all to be over and done with. I didnt want to put up with it. Not on my own. But who could I tell? Nobody. If I did, theyd just be worried. I dont want anyone to be worried about me. I immediately went up to my room to see Castiels reply to my little note. It said: Duh, course Ill come over. Will we get any alone time afterwards, though? *wink, wink* I giggled as I read it. One of the only things that kept me sane and not depressed after my fathers arrest was the fact that Cas and I were now dating. Castiel Argent is my boyfriend. What. The f***. Hes mine... That sounds creepy. But hes my boyfriend!!! Cue girlish squeal. And no, this time it isnt from you, dear reader, this time it actually came from me. Though you can squeal if you want to, of course... And yes, I know, I know. Me + squealing = immense terror and horror. Too bad! I wonder what Cas did at school today? Oh, who am I kidding, he probably skipped. Im the only reason he goes to school anyway, he only goes because of me. Wait, rewind. That sounds so conceited. What I mean is, he only goes cause I make him. I promise thats what I meant. Pinky promise. I found an old pen on my desk that had run out a long time ago, so I picked it up, climbed on my bed and opened my window, then threw the pen at his so hed hear the noise. It worked. Two seconds later he pulled his window open and ducked his head out. “You rang?” I laughed. “Im about to start making dinner, you wanna come over now? Or would you rather I got you when its ready, that way youre not waiting about until we eat?” “Ill get ready and come over now, kay?” I nodded and we both closed our window and curtains. Stripping off my wrinkled top and baggy jeans I lifted the black skinny jeans and top Id draped over my computer chair that morning. Id chosen a band tee. It was black, but it had a red heart grenade on the front with a white pin, and the bands name was printed in white above it. Now some of you readers probably know which band it was thanks to the logo, but for those of you who dont know, its one of the most epic bands ever: Green Day. I love em so d*** much. After lacing up my black Converse high-tops I trotted downstairs to make dinner. Then I realized – we hadnt been to the store. Woops. Oh well, we could get pizza. We had money. Castiel knocked on the door, and as I went over to let him in I unlocked my phone. “Hey,” he said warmly when he saw me. “Whats for dinner?” “Pizza.” I held up my phone. “Funny, I wouldnt count phoning for pizza as making dinner.” He smirked at me. “Oh ha ha. I forgot we hadnt bought any food.” I stepped back so he could come in then shut the door behind him. I turned round to see him with his brow furrowed. He looked confused. “Wheres your aunt?” “Oh, shes at the hospital,” I told him. Shed went to get herself checked out today just in case Dad had hurt her more than she thought last night. “What? Why?!” Worry laced his words. S***. He doesnt know about Dad. “Um, she managed to give herself a black eye. She went to open one of the cupboards and hit herself with the door. She was in pain so she left,” I lied. Fortunately he believed me. “Oh.” His forehead smoothed out then he grinned. “So we have the house to ourselves then, huh?” “I...I guess so.” “Well...I quite like this idea.” He winked at me. I gulped. “Y-Yeah?” “Yes.” He walked over to me and tilted my chin up, before he paused, asking me with his eyes if it was okay. I nodded slightly and he brought his lips down on mine Wow. This was only the second time wed really kissed (the first kiss was by accident and in a port-a-loo, so that one didnt count), and let me tell you, I was already hooked. I tangled my fingers in his hair, but I didnt pull it. I think I mightve pulled it too hard the day before when we were on the balcony. Instead I just ran my fingers through it, marvelling at how silky it was and softly untwisting any knots. His hands were on my hips, touching my skin since my shirt had ridden up when Id put up my arms. I reluctantly pulled back, jokingly hitting his stomach with the heel of my hand. “How can I order food when my mouth is otherwise engaged? Huh?” “Fine. Order food. Then, we kiss. Is that okay? Unless you dont want to kiss me...” He pouted. I, being the lady I am, snorted. “Whatever...” I phoned for pizza, me getting a Hawaiian (nom!), and Cas getting pepperoni. As we waited for it to arrive we sat and watched some movies on the TV, my legs up on the couch and leaning against him with my head on his shoulder. Although hed spoiled the mood as soon as I sighed, because he ruffled my hair and got it in my eyes, leaving me blind. Thanks, Cas. “Hey!” I whined. He laughed. “Hmph.” I folded my arms and settled back down again. Of course, as soon as I get comfy the doorbell goes, doesnt it? I pushed myself up, Cas pulled me back, we struggled, and I finally got off the couch so I could get our food. I was starving! Grabbing a handful of notes I ran to the door, yanking it open when I got there. “Pizza for-” “Yes, thank you!” I threw the money at him and snatched the pizzas, looking at them with hungry eyes. I heard someones throat clear, and my eyes swivelled up until they met the eyes of the delivery guy. “Yes?” I asked. “Yknow, youre kinda cute. Lets have your digits and we can go out, just tell me where and when, babe.” I snorted. “Dude. I have a boyfriend.” “Yeah, and I have a math test.” I didnt follow him. “What? So?” “Im sorry, I thought we were naming things we could cheat on.” I groaned and rolled my eyes. Was this guy slow? I wasnt interested. “Seriously, dude, that was cheesy. And not even in a good way.” I paused, pretending to think. “Funny, my boyfriend didnt get me by using c***py pick up lines like that.” He suddenly scowled. “Yeah? So what? Bet you dont even have a boyfriend anyhow.” “Psh. Yo, Cas!” I yelled, trying hard not to laugh. I heard him grunt in reply. “Cmere a sec, seems the delivery guy has a problem.” “Fine.” I smiled when I heard his husky voice getting louder as he approached. He finally came to stand next to me. “Whats up, Sid?” “This guy seems to have a problem with the fact that I wont date him. I decide to be nice and instead of decking him I called for you so we can settle things maturely.” I chuckled. “Okay, maybe not maturely, I was just hoping you could help me kill him.” He looked at Cas and I, a mixture of arrogance and horror in his eyes. I guess I looked p***ed. Or maybe Castiel did. Either way, he stuttered out an apology and, taking the money, he left. “Thank God for that, I was getting lonely,” Cas muttered from beside me. I laughed and punched his arm before going upstairs, turning on my computer and flopping into my computer chair, pizza in hand. I threw the pepperoni pizza box on my bed. I heard a deep chuckle followed by a soft whine, then little happy yaps. Sounded like Cas was playing with Max, which means she liked him. Weird, she doesnt normally like people. Hm, that sounds like shes a nasty dog, but its just because shes protective of me I guess. But she must have sensed that Cas was a good guy. I smiled to myself. How cold anyone not like Castiel? Its impossible. Hes the best person I know.
