Chapter 6. Prophecy. I. I was startled awake by a scream. I was groggy and started to think it was another dream. Then a loud thud followed by the sound of breaking boards sobered me and quick. I ran out of my room. Tim came out at the same time. We were greeted by a broken and strobing chandler. There were more screams and the sound of broken glass. Then there was an ungodly screech of a giant reptile. The light gave us glimpses of movement and the gore splattered environment as the hunters scrambled. Then the upstairs door burst open splintering into pieces of wooden shrapnel. This was followed by heavy gunfire as a large beast emerged covered in blood. A brief flicker of light showed me that it had someone’s arm in its jaws. The gun fire continued as it roared. I grabbed Tim’s arm and we stayed low as we headed for the door. I suddenly felt a sharp burning in my leg and chest. I dropped to the floor as Tim stood up. I watched his eyeball explode out of his head and he dropped on top of me. I rolled over and scrambled to my knees. I was bleeding from a hole in my chest. I remembered Tim telling me about his failed suicide attempts and quickly grabbed his arm and drug his body out in to the snow and away from the chaos. It was the thickest fog I had ever seen. If it wasn’t for the high intensity front porch light I wouldn’t have been able to see it happen. Right before my eyes I watched Tim’s exploded head heal. He came to and I jerked him up and I screamed in his face one word MOVE! We took off into the fog eaten dark as we heard the front door shatter. Roars and screech followed. I could only hear Tim yelling I could barely see evergreen branches before they repeatedly smashed me in the face. Tim was close 1o or so feet from me when the sound of large leathery wings flapping behind us started. Then Tim screamed. That scream quickly faded into the distance. Just as quickly the fog lifted. I was alone in the wilderness and I was off the path. The only sound now was the beating of my heart. I once again found myself losing consciousness I saw a beautiful starry sky with a horrible green hue as everything went black. II. Contact. I began to hear chanting and the rhythm of native America drums. I dared not open my eyes and began to cry. My head was then touched by a calm and warm hand. A deep steady voice spoke. You cannot linger here you have much work to do. I don’t want to I don’t want to destroy the world. You don’t have to. You can save it. At that I opened my eyes. I was in a Native American sweat lodge. I felt warm and safe. Something I had not felt in a long time. The old sage spoke again. You are in limbo son. You cannot pass this point any more than I can pass in the other direction. You are in the umbra, the spirit world. You are not yet defiled by the evil but as the winter solstice grows closer so does our world to the spirit world. You will have till then the 21st. now calm your mind and listen well for I have much to tell. The Glenn is where the devil what you know of it. landed when cast out. Here is what is not known. In the before time the Great Spirit felt an ailment in its being, A malaise malignant and vile. It separated its form. This crated lesser deities but did not expel the evil. In turn the lesser deities separated their form. And good and evil was born. The Great Spirit then hurtled the evil out into the universe. This evil touched many planets and stars creating dark worlds. The good spirits found the evil ones and went to war. In the end they cast and sealed the devil and his demons on a young planet that yet had developed. The spirits then built the mechanisms after time moved on and the planet had gained intelligence. They are not like you and I. They are ethereal beings. Their form does not have the ability to manipulate our environment. But they can possess or influence life. So they found influential men and used them to build the towns and create a way to release the evil. Not to set it free one day to destroy the world you have come to love but in case the separation had affected them negatively one day they may need to reform. It is here that the evil has seeped out enough to influence creatures with free thought. And it is why these places are so remote and the mechanisms are quite complicated. You can stop it but you must open it to seal it again. How do I do that I burst in. you must have faith that is stronger than it. You must be the one to open the 6th gate for a reason. Or else you would have been the sacrifice at the 2nd gate instead of the man’s brother. He really has it out for you since he started to change. They can’t kill you because of this. Once started more and more evil miasma escapes and takes hold. When the first star falls in line the Great Beast will wake. When a gate is opened one of his general is released into the individual that opens it. With each gate that opens they grow stronger and with each sacrifice the more they take over completely the bodies they inhabit. Once each gate is opened the generals will need to stay in the alter rooms. This is where they are most vulnerable. This is how we sanctify the gates and seal them again. I spoke out again how do I do that if I have to hold a gate open. The sage continued to speak. The universe tries to right its wrongs. You must find 4 virtuous people to help you. The people of the town are mesmerized and oblivious to what is happening around them but there will be four who are not. You must find them. You are special Sam. at some point in your child hood you came in contact with a spirit of light. Some of its power still lingers with in you. This is the sole reason you are able to resist. You will be both the dark and light for the sixth gate. Once inside the Ram’s Stone you will sanctify it. Do not fear. The gates can be opened by your blood alone. You do not have to sacrifice anyone. The sacrifice is how you start to lose your humanity and obtain the demonic powers you have witnessed in the others. You must tell this part to your friend who holds the 5th gate. There is much work to be done. You are up against great opposition. I have sent a vision to my grandson Esquano. He will arrive soon. In the next two days he will contact you and tell you everything you must do. Until then find the four. They will be away from everyone else for the most part. You will feel there righteousness when you get close. They may not know it’s in them but they will believe what you tell them because the subconscious knows it to be true. On the 21st the solstice will come and so will your time. Have faith and do not give in. Now go tell your friend he won’t have to kill his niece and possibly save his soul. In two days you will have more answers. Go and act like you’re starting to turn. Cozen with the other gate holder to throw them off your sent. Now wake up you have much to do. III. Direction found. I awoke in the snow behind Frank’s general store in the middle of town. At this point I have about quit questioning how things are happening. I got up cold and wet. My head was hurting again. The lump was long gone. I felt lost and over whelmed. The world was nothing short of insane. I looked to the sun and saw the green hue edging off the cliffs even as the day shone through. Where to start? I went home and showered. I guess it was time for a drink. Tonight I would integrate myself back in with my demonic brethren.
