Charas processing unit busted in Anantnag; Large quantity of narcotic recovered Srinagar: Anantnag police busted a cannabis processing unit concealed in cow shed and recovered large quantity of Charas and other contraband, an official statement mentioned on Tuesday. Acting on a tip off, a police party of Police Station Sirigufwara raided the cowshed of Mohammad Hussain Ganie son of Khazir Mohammad resident of Poshkreeri, the statement read. During the search of the cowshed police recovered a Charas processing unit where poppy and cannabis powder was produced. The equipment including a straw grinder, motor and one weight measure were seized from the cowshed. Further, police also recovered 15kg charas, 4.6kg poppy grinded straw and 45 kg poppy straw from the shed. The accused however, gave slip to the police party, sources said. Police has registered a case FIR no 63/014 u/s 8/20 NDPS act against the accused and launched a manhunt to nab the culprit, police sources said.
