Charbel: State rejects private security measures Lebanon’s caretaker interior minister said Wednesday that the authorities reject private security measures throughout the country imposed by political parties, as he sought to allay fears over attacks on foreign missions by declaring their security as “part of Lebanon’s security.” Marwan Charbel also defended a plan that would see municipal police forces do more to fight crime and bolster security by saying the government would ensure they were not infiltrated by political parties.
