Charity Golf Tournament Benefitting East Cooper Habitat for Humanity Bulls Bay G. C. Ball Drop Description September 17, 2013 The ball drop tickets are sold for $10 each or three for $25. Each ticket is individually numbered. When a ticket is purchased, the buyer fills out their name, address and phone number on the ticket. That portion of the ticket remains with ECHFH so we have a record of who purchased each numbered ticket. The buyer receives the other half of the ticket which also has the individual number on that stub. So, the buyer has a record of what number(s) he has purchased. As ECHFH has a record of all buyers and their numbers, it is not necessary to be present at the ball drop to win any of the prizes. Buyers will be notified if they have won one of the four prizes. Before the start of the tournament at Bulls Bay Golf Club on September 17, 1,000 golf balls will be dropped from a boom lift approximately 20 feet in the air. Each ball is individually numbered. The balls will be dropped onto a grassy surface with an incline. Down near the bottom of the incline will be a cup - just as would be found on a golf green. The ball which lands on the grass, rolls down the incline and goes into the cup first would win first prize. If two or more balls go into the cup, the one at the bottom would win first prize and the next one in the cup would win second and so forth. If no balls go into the cup, then the winner would be determined by measuring to see which ball is closest to the hole. If one of the balls closest to the hole has a number on it for which no ticket was sold, then that number is ignored and the next closest to the hole would win the prize. There are four prizes and all prizes will be awarded to participants who have purchased tickets. Checks should be made payable to East Cooper Habitat for Humanity, Inc.
