Charles “Chuck” Paro age 71, of Menominee, Michigan, son of David and Ida (DeMolen) Paro passed away peacefully on Saturday May 17, 2014, at Bay Area Medical Center, with his family at his side. He was born in Ewen, Michigan on August 16, 1942. Chuck graduated from Bergland High School and attended Western Michigan University. He served four years in the Navy during Vietnam and was stationed in Alaska during the earthquake. Afterwards, he began his career with the telephone company in Kalamazoo and later transferred to Iron Mountain, where he met his wife, Sue. Chuck was a huge Green Bay Packer fan. He enjoyed singing at Church and weddings, and would call to sing “Happy Birthday” to his children. One of his greatest passions in life was ice cream! He will be missed by all who knew him. Chuck is survived by his wife, Sue, their four children: Selina (Scott) Scoles of Juneau, Shannon Paro (Meryl Kelch) of Wausau, Chadd Paro (Elizabeth Shaffer) of Marinette, and Amy Deschane (Scott Kamps) of Crivitz; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving are two sisters, Peggy Black and Glenna (Jim) Lentz and many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bill and David, and a brother-in-law, Bernard “Bub” Black. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Friday May 23, 2014, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Amberg with Father Don Burkart officiating. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at church on Friday. Interment will be in the Amberg Cemetery.
