Tissot, A swiss physician an author (1728-1779) reported the cased of a sailor so frightened by a storm at sea that he felt down and his face sweat blood. During the whole storm blood appeared on his body like an ordinary sweat as fast as it was wiped away. A nun who felt into the hands of soldier was so terrified of the sword and dagger threatening instant death that he bled from every part of his body and died... So also Christ in His hour of mental anguish sweat drop of blood evidence of the severe trauma. He experience in excepting the sin of every person on earth. The guilt and separation from his Father was literally crushing out His life until an angels came to strengthen Him in the garden of Gethsemane..The administering the flogging used a FLAGELLUM a whip consisting of a short handle equips with leather thong, the end of whip tip of iron piece, lead, bone, when wrench away, they ripped out bit of flesh. They twisted a wreath of thorn branches into a rude crown and jammed it on His head. And they bowed down b4 Him n mocked at Him, saying, HAIL KING OF JEWS. They spit on His face and smote Him on His head(Mathw 27:29-31). They slapped Him in His face, pulled out bits of His hairs, jerked His beard. He could have destroyed instantly but He couldnt save Himself n Mankind. Bodily pain was only a part of Jesus agony, but the sin of the world pressed upon Him and the complete abandonment from His Father and forsaken Him and experienced the separation that sin causes betwn God n Men. On the cross the Son of God felt the entire crushing weight of the sin of the world. The whole human race betrayd, deserted, rejected Him; No one understand the loneliness of His torment. The nail were square spike about a third of an inch thick at the head n some 7 inches long. The nail were nailed both the wrist n the victim feet turned sideways n a single nail pierced both ankles in such a way that he was crucified in a bend position, supported by a crosspiece of wood called a SEDECULLA. Due to the thirst n dehydration, Jesus cried out, I THIRST The victim usually live 2 to 3 days, sometimes a week or more. As the end near, Scavenger birds began thier work b4 death. Soldier crushed the legs with an iron bar with both legs broken, the victim could no longer lift himself to help relieve his breathing problem. Death followed quickly in most cases. To really be sure thats the victim had died the Romans added one fine measure: a lance thrust through the right side of the chest into the heart. Then Jesus cried out with a loud voice, FATHER INTO THY HAND I COMMIT MY SPIRIT! N FATHER FORGIVE THEM FOR THEY NOT KNOW WHAT THEY DO and saying, IT IS FINISH ! He died. Our savior died after only about 3 n half hours on the cross. he died not from the physical torture but from the burden of sin. Sin killed our savior. All that He endured the agony in the garden of Gethsemane, the taunting humiliation of the insulting mob, the brutal flogging, the lingering torture of the cross, the hiding of His Father face _He would have endured just 4 one person but did it all 4 u n me.. He love us n someone had to pay the price of our sin. It wwas my sentence of death which sent Him to the cross. Now think it over : How much r u really worth...? Has anyone ever given his life 4 u..? If someone did, how would u feel..? how would u show your appreciation to someone who had suffered horrible death to save u from dead. Two thousand years back, He leaved His perfect home n come down to earth to live among us He love. To died for ones friends is not worthy but not completely unknown. But to died for ones enemies is more remarkable( Roman 5:6-10) Jesus death was diff, no man, not even an angels could have paid the price for sin COZ The wages of sin is death(Roman 6:23) He died as a substitute for me........
