Chattanooga, Tennessee - 22yr old Dakota Eldridge of Smyrna pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of attempted first degree murder and a lesser charge of attempted aggravated child abuse in the 2011 death of his infant son. In June 2011 Eldridge and his girlfriend, the babys mother, took the infant to Rhea County Medical Centre where he was prescribed medication to treat vomiting. While filling in the prescription they told doctors they saw a bloody stool in the infants diaper. The baby was treated at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, where the crime took place. Eldridge covered his sons mouth and nose three times while in hospital. Video showed him holding his son before his breathing stopped.
