Cheap Gamble “Sherlock Holmes” part 3 of 4 Its very clear that the writers knew what they were doing and created a great little sci-fi mystery fit very well with the characters of Sherlock Holmes. Watson and Holmes are written very well here. They act the same as we are all used to seeing then act like Holmes tricking and experimenting on Watson with no remorse or much care for his safety but unlike most other adaptations this actually makes them believable as friends. We see them professionally work very well together and witty dialog between them is funny and feels real (a shocking first for the Asylum). One of my biggest problems with Jude Law’s Watson is that he was too serious and moody all the time and I didn’t believe that he would ever want to associate himself with Holmes because of his attitude towards him.
