Russel is from North Vancouver, BC and grew up skateboarding at the Ambleside skatepark back in the late 90s. His debut video part in Monke Madness is what help him get sponsored by DVS shoes and RDS clothing giving him a spot in the Canadian industry. He went on to being sponsored in the United States.
