PROGRAM OFFERED AT THE MONTAGUE WELLNESS CENTRE: 2 week program (6 -60 minute sessions) - Consists of weekly sessions on - September 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th and 11th. Players & Goalie Sections Goalies will be working with our Head Instructor Paul Drew and other Andrews Goaltending Staff during the skating portion on Power Skating, Crease Work and Fundamental Movement and will get to play in the Overspeed Hockey Portion to work on their Game Play! Supplement your development with the worlds top hockey skating program along with overspeed hockey! This is the program that Andrews Grads such as Sidney Crosby, Brad Richards, Adam McQuaid, and Brandon Gormley attended to help take them to where they are today. Considered by Hockey Experts to be the most Advanced Scientific Based Skating Program in Present Day Hockey; Our Modern Techniques of Hockey Skating Program has been researched, upgraded and developed for over thirty years; this program is modified to teaching all levels from beginner to professional. The Program goes in depth on the proper mechanics of stride length, frequency, edge control, glide turns, sharp turns, mohawk turns, stops and transitional skating. Learn how to skate the hockey way! Overspeed Hockey! This scientific approach to skill development in games created by Andrews Hockey has been emulated in other sports and proven as one of the most effective ways to develop and hone game skills, such as reactive, small space skating, passing quickness and accuracy, reactive puck control in tight spaces, heads up play and goal scoring. Players will play 3 on 3 cross-ice in each zone, which is scattered with tires to reinforce heads up play, precision passing, smart play without the puck and increased puck control. Players may only score on one-time shots on mini nets and on penalties, players will receive a penalty shot from behind his own net and must score on the mini net. Following the shot, goal or save, play will resume.
