Cheeseburger Salad Counting your carbs and don’t think you can - TopicsExpress

Cheeseburger Salad Counting your carbs and don’t think you can celebrate National Cheeseburger Day? Wrong! Make your cheeseburger into a salad instead! Ingredients: • 1 lb. of ground beef (this makes enough for 3 salads) • Shredded Cheese (cheddar or a blend is best) • Tony Chachere Creole seasoning (or seasoning of your choice) • Salt & Pepper • Bacon (use the pre-cooked kind for convenience) • Lettuce (you can substitute spinach) • Tomato • Onion (optional) • Mushrooms (optional) • Dill pickle (optional) • Kraft Spicy Ranch Dressing (or dressing of your choice, but this one is really good on this salad) Directions: 1. Make a green salad with whatever ingredients your family enjoys as a topper for a burger. I use lettuce, tomato and “dill pickle”. Set that aside. 2. If your family likes mushrooms and/or onions, cook them in a small amount of olive oil in a skillet until soft. Set aside for the moment. 3. Take 1 lb. of lean ground beef and make about 2 dozen small burger patties (approx. 1 inch each). Season them. Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 10 minutes or until done. Top with shredded cheese of your choice and pop back in the oven just long enough to melt the cheese. (I cook them on foil for easy clean up . . . also it is easy to pour off excess grease prior to adding your cheese.)Cook about 5 slices of bacon. 4. Add the burgers, mushrooms, & bacon to your salad. (No need to wait for anything to cool down.) Top with Spicy Ranch Dressing or your personal favorite.
