Chef Chris LHommedeiu first touched my life almost 15 years ago in my home town of Burlingame at Pisces. In 2000 this was Next Century newest restaurant in their portfolio, which includes Aqua, and was the most anticipated opening for diners on the mid peninsula. Located in the historic Burlingame train station. Chef Chris left the area when Pisces closed in 2007 to create a epic resume. Two years ago I had the pleasure of delivering chanterelles to him at one of our weekly SF stops at Prospect. We reminisce about the old days at Pisces and how we both missed working together. We were both so excited to reconnect, over our mutual passion for wild mushrooms. Chef Chris was not only a great chef but a wonderful person. He instilled everyone around him to do their best. He had a compassionate way about him. Chriss passing from cancer hits close to home for me, being that I was diagnosed this March and recovering from a battle with stage 3 colon cancer . I am devastated by Chriss passing and will miss him. RIP Chef
