Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois wants a return to Stamford Bridge so he can make an impact on the blues squad. Reports in Spain yesterday indicated that Barcelona have already made contact with Courtois’ representatives about signing the keeper after his loan spell with Atletico Madrid ends at the end of the season. However, the 21-year-old has claimed that he will return to Stamford Bridge next summer and fight Petr Cech for his place in the first-team, having been told by Jose Mourinho that he has a bright future at Chelsea. “I’m not afraid of fighting for my place with Cech,” Courtois told Belgian newspaper DH. “I’m not afraid of anyone. I have faith in my ability and I know that Mourinho doesn’t let a player’s status affect his selection decisions. “The proof is that he left [Iker] Casillas on the bench [at Real Madrid last season] because he thought Diego Lopez was training better.” (Daily Express) #AS
