Chikungunya is a mosquito-borne viral illness and should be on your radar...especially since it has been found in 7 states in the US now. Be aware so you can take the appropriate measures to reduce your risk if traveling to a country where the illness is found. Haiti is now on that list with the majority of current cases occurring in the Dominican Republic and a history of having made its way through Eastern Africa and other parts of the Caribbean. cnn/2014/06/12/health/virus-chikungunya/
