Chikwelete Stages Provinicial Coup in PF Former Lusaka Mayor Robert Chikwelete has declared himself Lusaka District Patriotic Front chairman following the wrangles that have engulfed the ruling party. Chikwelete who commandeered a squadron of PF youths across the city of Lusaka in protest against out of favour Party Secretary General Wynter Kabimba said he had been appointed by officials from the seven constituencies hounding out Goodson Banda who has been chairman and aligned to the Kabimba faction. The Chawama Constituency chairman said there was no more room for the anti endorsement crusaders in the party. Chikwelete said the cadres had moved to thwart what they termed Kabimba’s ill timed suspensions of officials by stopping his press conference from taking place. “As at today I have taken over the chairmanship of the Lusaka District Patriotic Front office after a decision was taken by the seven constituencies of Lusaka,” he said. “We would like to warn the traitors in Goodson Banda group that Lusaka District is a no go area for them.” He added: “We say this is time for Wynter Kabimba and his ZRP (Zambia Republican Party) tactics to go.
