#Childhood#rains#memories#mangalore# It is said that rains are the time of romance an individual has with nature .Truly its the time we become so keen and aware of our surroundings ..The wet mud..The trees being bathed of dirt and dust. .water rushing everywhere,.playing with paper boats in muddy water round trees,upturned umbrellas and getting drenched, listening to the sound of water falling from tin sheets,(dambe)thunder and lightning in the night..burrowing under blankets ..feeling so cozy..watching the droplets of water on plants, dripping down steadily and looking at it hours on end .so thrilled and enchanted to catch a rainbow ,watching the clouds moving with great speed sometimes ..and watching when they would darken..we were so blessed to have that time because it would rain continuously for two months and it would remain cold.. Felt really nostalgic after reading a back to school post I came across today ; closed my eyes and imagined myself walking that short distance from home to school. .wearing school uniform. .almost got the smell of the rains and sound of rains lashing at the earth..so cool and music to the ears. .classes would be more interesting ..The concentration more on the feeling of rain than the lessons being taught,.sometimes the teachers voice could not be heard above the sound of rain outside.chilly feeling till the feet dried. .I remember the keeping umbrellas outside the classroom in tubs and also the n number of umbrellas I lost. Sometimes when the rains were too heavy we would get holidays. .The bus children would be the ones most affected. And we would be so delighted. .jumping with joy secretly..these are some of my memories of rainy school days .many others are vague but stored somewhere.maybe they will be jogged by company of others shared memory ..its so delightful being a child , innocently enjoying ..and forgetting ourselves in mother natures lap!!
