Glad Nigerians know, that no one can Christianize or Islamize Nigeria Section 10 of the constitution: Prohibition of state religion clearly makes it difficult to Islamize or Christianize Nige¬ria. Any major change of the constitution can only be possible if 24 states (2/3 of 36) Houses of Assembly approve. Now, of the 36 states we have 19 (North) and 17 (South). When you factor in the National Assembly, it becomes near impossible to Islamize or Christianize Nigeria. Remember that some Northern States have Christian governors. Nigerians tend to have short memories. Gen Buhari (Moslem) as military Head of State, had Gen Tunde Idiagbon (Moslem) as Deputy, yet they could not introduce Sharia in Nigeria. The freest and fairest election in Nigeria (June 12, 1993 election) was won by MKO Abiola a Moslem, who’s Vice was Alhaji Kingigbe a Moslem too. Buhari has consistently chosen Christians as his Vice, namely Chuba Okadigbo (Christian), Edwin Umezoke (Christian), Pastor Bakare (Christian), Pastor Osibanjo (Christian). Buhari worshiped at Redeem Church with Adeboye (General Overseer). Buhari received Holy Bible as gift from a Bishop, during his campaign at Owerri. Another rumour is that Christian President Goodluck Jonathan will defend fellow Christians. My reply has always been, President Goodluck is a Christian, present army chief is a Christian, present chief of defence staff is a Christian, yet they are unable to defend Christians in North from Boko Haram. This is not to say that Moslems have not died in the hand of Boko Haram. Interestingly, Buhari as army commander drove away a fanatical Moslem sect called Maitasine (similar to Boko Haram), during Shagari era.
