Today I watched the Iron Man race right here in my new hometown. I watched 2500 athletes of every age, size and shape pushing their limits, with each hoping to achieve their personal best in this grueling triathlon. Every single one of these athletes had a support team there to cheer them on before, during and after the race. As a former triathlete, I know first hand that endurance racing is a metaphor for life, and as the day wore on it became evident that many athletes were dealing with aches and pains.
