Chris Mendez, Victor Drew Jimenez Before facing the Toronto Raptors tonight in Charlotte, the Bobcats went into New York as huge underdogs in taking on the Knicks. The Bobcats showed a lot of heart, believe and passion going into Madison Square Garden, there young up and coming star in PG Kemba Walker, showed up ready to play despite suffering a shoulder contusion, he scored 17 of his 25 points in the 1st half, but it was his clutch step-back jumper that gave Charlotte a 6-point lead with 48.1 seconds left in the game, then Walker knocks down a critical free-throw down the stretch as the Bobcats shock the Knicks and improve there record to 2-2. Walker clearly loves playing at the garden, and plays his best basketball with a whole lot of confidence and giving Charlotte a huge jolt of believe they could go into New York and get the victory. The big impact Walker had in the 1st quarter, as he sets the tone for the Bobcats from the start. First, SF Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, makes a great pass to a wide-open Kemba Walker in the corner, nailing the 3-pointer with a great bounce into the basket. Then Walker does it again, but this time he knocks down the tough pull-up jumper over his bigger defender. Walker gets the steal, runs on the fast-break and finds Kidd-Gilchrist for the easy-up. This time, the Knicks put Chandler on Walker, but that doesnt work, as he knocks a 3-pointer on the wing. He makes a good pass to Henderson, then Henderson makes a good move into the paint and knocks down the tough jumper. Walker gets a little fancy and buries the nice fadeaway jumper, then he makes a great pass to Taylor for the ally-oop slam dunk. Walker scored 10 of his 17 first half points and dished out 3 of his 6 assists in the 1st period, as the Cats to a 31-28 lead into the 2nd quarter. Late in the 2nd quarter, with about 3 minutes until halftime, Walker finds a wide-open Jeffery Taylor in the wing for the 3-point field goal, as the Bobcats grew there lead to 54-46. Walker does a little shake and bake and knocks down another jumper, then he decides to get extra fancy, with unbelievable fake and scores the driving lay-up. Walker makes a great pass to Henderson for the wide-open 3-pointer. With about 40 seconds to go in the 2nd period, Walker attacks the basket hard, scores the driven lay-up, gets foul and has a chance at a 3-point play. Walker continues to torch the Knicks on the offense side, as Henderson returns the favor to Walker and finds him in the corner for the wide-open 3-pointer. As the young leader of the Bobcats, he likes having the responsibility of having a huge impact for the team from the start to the very finish. Walker gets hurt during a play late in the 3rd quarter, but he toughs up, stays in the game till the end, and makes himself known to the Knicks crowd by closing out any chance for New York to have a comeback at all. Walker comes back in the game, and has no problem making huge plays and showing his fearless confidence. He knock down a couple of free-throws early in the fourth quarter, makes a great pass to the rookie PF Cody Zeller, for the driving lay-up bucket. Walker makes his only shot of the fourth quarter in the final minute of the game, when he is given the mis-match over PF/C Kenyon Martin, does a couple of little shake and bake moves, then he buries the clutch, critical jumper with 48 seconds left, as he grows Charlottes lead to six 97-91. Walker with 7 seconds left, makes the clutch free-throw, as the Bobcats go into New York and upset the Knicks 102-97. My web info sports sources comes from NBA
