Christa Slejko recommended as North Lake Colleges new president Dr. Joe May, chancellor of the Dallas County Community College District, announced that his recommendation for president of North Lake College is Christa Slejko, the current interim president. Slejko has served as interim president since August 2011 and May said in an email webcast sent to the college today that Slejkos “energy, enthusiasm, commitment and experience are obvious.” Slejko is an advocate for professional development. She is certified in Covey’s Four Disciplines and serves as a Strengths Advocate. She also is very committed to sustainability initiatives and served as sustainability officer for NLC. Mays decision will be voted on by the DCCCD Board of Trustees at their monthly meeting Aug. 5. - Staff writer James Svoboda
