Christiaan Bentley Vosburgh. gonna be busy rest of evening on and off but convince me to go vegan... currently animal product a few times a week, used to daily but going almond milk changed that... Im opposed to absolutist positions as reasonable se its rather unlikely youll convince me based on the fact a product came from an animal... my biggest reason to be opposed to changing diet is that modern chickens, pigs and cows cant survive the wild without us, in some places even with our help predators do alright... so what happens to the chickens if we close all the slaughterhouses tomorrow?... wanna know what happens when chickens are taken from illegal cock fights? theres nobody who values them enough to house and feed them so they all get killed in the name of animal protection... so the way I see it, we close all the slaughterhouses all that happens is we no longer care to preserve the meat post kill and instant extinction(near extinction event)... these animals exist in the first place because of their value as food, Im pro reduction of suffering to the greatest degree but unless Im wrong, the worst day for chickens isnt when theyre killed but when lab grown breast is cheaper than chicken... discussion or try to prove my economic assumption/argument wrong... moderation FTW barring a change of opinion caused by evidence or unthought of alternative.
