Christians Are Called To A Two-fold Testing: Experts Through Accreditation, Striving for Mastery in Christ Part II 2 Cor 2:9 “ For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.” Dokime: proof; proving, trial, approved, tried character Huperkoos: to give an ear; obedient The Bible teaches in the Book of Hebrews that all of the promises are inherited through faith and patience. (See Hebrews 6v12) So, faith and patience are the formula to receiving the fulfillment of what Christ Yahshua called you to do. You cannot be in disobedience and expect Christ to fulfill what He has promised in your life. Obedience should bring you home to your purpose and calling and everything that Christ has designated and promised unto you. YHWH uses trials to promote and perfect us. In this life our character is being perfected through temptations. Hence, we shouldn’t view temptation as negative but part of the growing/maturing process, part of the ingredients, which YHWH allow to perfect your character and faith. What is being tried is if you trust YHWH. What’s on trial is whether or not you believe He’s going to fulfill what He’s promised you. The Christian existence is the situation determined by received salvation on one side and impending judgment on the other. A Christian is always being judged. We are supposed to be judged of the world but their judgment will not always be a right judgment. Hence, the word reads, “so, let your light shine before men.” (Matt 5:16) Judgment is a testing of human life and its achievement. A lot of Christians believe they have a choice/decision whether or not to obey but you actually don’t. Disobedience affects your outcome, call, mission and everyone you were called to minister unto. The option to obey or disobey is taken away from you. Rather, Christians are called to a twofold testing: you’ve been called to be an expert in your field but in order to be an expert you need accreditation; you receive accreditation in Christ through study (i.e., study to show yourself approved). Christ makes your life simple: He is your salvation and the mission He gives you is to carry out his will. Yakov (James) 1:2-3 “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.” Dokimion: the proving, that by which something is tried and proved; a test Hupomone: steadfastness, endurance, the building of character, producing loyalty to faith, a steadfast waiting for It’s part of your Christian walk for your faith to be tested. Your faith goes through different scenarios in order that it may be proved. You don’t live according to the test but according to faith. The word says that the just shall live by faith! (Hebrews 10:38) Your life is being tested such that regardless of what comes your way you’re going to have the fruits of the spirit: peace, joy, happiness, etc. (See Galatians 5:22-23) The fruits of the spirit are not subject to what you’re being tempted by. What’s being tempted is not your spirit but your feelings and emotions. Your spirit should remain steadfast. You are tested to prove the will of YHWH which means that first you must know his will in order to be tested on it. Even Adam and Eve questioned after knowing the will of Elohim. They lacked obedience and trust despite knowing YHWH’s will. It’s when you fail the test that you walk in disobedience. Yet faith + patience = answered prayer. (See Hebrews 6:12) You can’t just do one, but you must do both. Faith as soon as it’s heard is tested/attacked. Tested whether you’ll be steadfast, have endurance, and build character under unfavorable conditions. 1st thing you’re tested on: to prove the will of YHWH (actually it’s Satan trying to prove YHWH a liar) 2nd thing you’re tested on: to prove your own accreditation (i.e., prove yourself in the gospel, prove yourself in Christ) This proving is unto self. You must prove that “you” are in Christ. Have you lost faith in yourself? Have you become unbelievable to self? When you no longer have faith in you, you can’t carry out the will of YAH. But when you suffer from insecurity you lack faith in your character—never receiving accreditation. When you lack faith in your character others doubt your character as well. Walking in disobedience will bring you to a place where you’re no longer a Christian, no longer Christ-like; no longer walking in his mission. The problem with the Church is that we want to win the world to our values, but sometimes the world has better ethics (i.e., business and interpersonal ethics) than we do. In church, we too often treat others badly because we believe we’re only dealing with “volunteers.” Understand, your faith is what makes you righteous, strong and puts you in right standing. Faith gives you accreditation. 1 Corinthians 10:1-5: Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 5 But with many of them Elohim was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Are you being overcome before you receive your promise? Somewhere between receiving the promise and hearing the word you fell off because you didn’t have patience. If the word is that you’re going to the Promised Land, then how do you end up dead in the desert? Where there is interference there is questioning. But confusion is not of Elohim. And, confusion comes in when there isn’t clear communication (“Looking to the author and finisher of our faith”—Hebrews 12:2). When something is blinding you that’s when you have to walk by faith. Without faith it’s impossible to please YHWH. If you don’t have faith you starve. You can spiritually starve your spirit if you don’t have faith. There are those who started out in faith who didn’t end in faith. The deciding factor is patience. Regardless of the circumstance, I know that what He said is true. You can’t achieve patience without your faith being tried. You can drink the same spiritual meat and drink and not receive the same blessing because each heart doesn’t mix the word with faith. When you are reminded of YHWH’s will you are reminded of the responsibility you have to prove His will to self, the world, and Satan. When you have an option or way out, you will look for that option. Yet Christ will put you in a position where you don’t have any options but through faith and patience. Carrying out the will of Elohim benefits others so all can see YHWH working: it leaves a legacy in the earth. It becomes a constant reminder of the “right way.” One of the number #1 things that will be tested is your love. Where there is no loyalty there is no love. There’s something wrong if you meditate on the wrongs that have been done against you instead of seeking and producing love, and doing the will of the Father. Hebrews 4:1 “Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.” You can be left out of a promise and you can come short of a promise. But refuse! Rather, prove the will of YHWH in your life. Nothing should hinder you from carrying out the plan of YHWH when you know you’re going to be tested on what His will is. But once you know His will you are responsible to carry it out. So know that a test is coming and be responsible to carry out the will of the Most High. Accreditation for ministry can only true come through relationship with Christ. We have ministers who have gained book knowledge but have not the evidence of Christ in their heart. (2 Timothy 3:7, “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”) Knowledge without a heart experience is in vain. It is one thing to get your doctorate but another to be accredited because you have relationship with Christ. Then you are compelled to prove His will. As was with Christ (“the chief cornerstone”), sometimes the world will judge you incorrectly. Hebrews 4:2 “For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.” Word alone is not good enough. Word and faith must be mixed. Word in the scripture is “logos.” Faith is “pistis.” Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word. If you don’t hear the word and become the word, the word will not profit you. The word cannot come to pass in your life if you have not heard it and have not been truly obedient such that you believe, regardless of circumstances, that YHWH will be faithful to carry out His promise. We must lay down our timeframe and walk in His timeframe. Romans 12:1-2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of Elohim, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto Elohim, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of Elohim.” It’s his will that’s under test, under fire, but you have a mandate to carry out the will. When you carry out the will of YHWH you become an example unto others. This occurs as you endure under patience. The trying of your faith works experience and proven character. Philippians 1:10 “That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.” In order to prove YHWH’s will, you’ll have to endure everything that is against His will. Though everything may come to take your joy and peace you must endure and prove YHWH’s will. Judge yourself, evaluate whether you are proving the will of YHWH In your life. We were not called to walk in lack. Yet we were called to prove that YHWH meets all of our needs. You will be blessed likewise with the desires of your heart. But when you become dissatisfied with self or your timetable you no longer believe in the word of faith. When you no longer believe in the word of faith you move contrary to that word. Hope is a currency—one that others can’t see. Your hope has purchasing power. You must endure until you get the end result. When you do so, you will make others into believers. Don’t get caught up in public opinion: did Elohim say? YHWH needs you to outlast your doubters and those who said you wouldn’t make it. Run the marathon. Don’t get caught up in the fans’ response but endure through every inning. There is something at stake when your faith is under trial. Souls are at stake. You were called to win unbelievers by receiving a miracle. YHWH called your life to be a comeback. Be the hero you were purposed to be. Depend on Him and He will see you through and take you across the finish line. #Bishop
