“Christmas was lovely with the family, the growing-up children - TopicsExpress

“Christmas was lovely with the family, the growing-up children are a delight – such good manners and so amusing. We sat down twenty to dinner including the two littlest nieces and one little nephew, aged eleven, twelve, and thirteen respectively, Johnny the youngest. They all had milk by their places but were allowed each a glass of champagne and one of the little girls was heard to say in one of those sudden lulls – ‘Milk tastes lousy after champagne, doesn’t it?’ Both girls wore long hostess gowns and were quite blissful imagining themselves grown up.” –Lynn recalls Christmas, 1938. We imagine these darling ornaments hung on the Lunts’ tree for the festivities. Ornaments from the Lunts’ collection at Ten Chimneys Foundation. Warm holiday wishes from all of us at Ten Chimneys Foundation to you and yours.
