Christopher Nolan made sure that Zimmer abandoned his usual ostinato string writing and pounding drum rhythms in favour of an organ for his next film, Interstellar. The master sound producer and composer ends up using a 1926 four manual Harrison & Harrison organ in Londons 12th century Temple Church to achieve a wondrous and powerful effect that tips Nolans ambitious film to instant classic territory. Highlights include Cornfield Chase, Day One, Stay, Coward and Where Were Going.
