Animals adopted by Chula Vista residents will receive a FREE one-year license. Please come to the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility to select from many wonderful animals awaiting new homes. Adoption pictureStep 1 Adoption Requirements & Fees Adding a pet to your family is a big decision. All animals require training and commitment. Some pets can live well into their teens and just like people, many may have special medical needs as they get older (medication, frequent check-ups, etc.). This should be considered before you decide to take on this trusted responsibility. Persons wishing to adopt a pet must: Complete and file an approved CVACF Animal Adoption application. Be at least 18 years of age Have current and verifiable identification Live where pets are allowed All members of household must be present for adoption If you are a current dog owner, you must bring your dog for on-site introduction ** The Chula Visa Animal Care Facility reserves the right to deny adoptions in certain circumstances for cause.
