Church of 125 years crumbling down because of lack of maintenance In spite of the National status of the museum, no organization would like to take responsibility for the maintenance or upgrading of the museum. During 1992 the church was renovated with assistance from the Finnish Government. During 1995 the Finns again assisted with renovations, followed by the history and finally the plea from Kaanante to emphasize the importance of the museum (important source of income for the local community and must be protected forever).
