Cinderalla Story in the Making By DCBlueStar t.co/nwStvjhG5W Just a few months after losing Romo to season ending back surgery, the Cowboys parted ways with oft-injured DeMarcus Ware. Jason Hatcher left for Washington, and Sean Lee made his home on Injured Reserve. Both sides of the ball were in danger. How could they ever recover? They needed to do something, and quick. Many were predicting the type of season that would land the Cowboys a top ten pick in the 2015 NFL Draft… but then, the Dallas Cowboys stunned everyone. In their season opener, the Cowboys had the “I-told-you-sos” flying. They were doomed. Romo looked unhealthy, and the defense looked nonexistent. And just like that, the Cowboys punched everyone in the mouths… reeling off six straight wins, with one win coming versus the “unbeatable” Seahawks, in Seattle. With the Redskins match looming, fans worried about Romo’s fate. This, you see, was the last team to injure Romo. All fears came crashing down on Cowboys fans everywhere when, sure enough, the Redskins had done it again. Romo was hit in the back, and had to be taken to the locker room. Later it was revealed that Romo had fractured two transverse processes in his back. Suddenly, fans everywhere were unsure of the Cowboys’ season. What were they going to do? After sitting out of the Cardinals game with his fresh injury Romo reeled off one of the best streaks of his career. Going 139-of-193, 72%, 19 TDs and 3 INTs, helping the Cowboys to their first playoff berth in five seasons. After the Aikman-like performance against Detroit, Romo and the Cowboys find themselves in the midst of the possibility of an unthinkable playoff run. They weren’t supposed to be here but here they are. Knocking loud. These Cowboys have come ready to fight. And they’ve come to finish it. The Cowboys have the floor. The stage is set. So, too, are the excuses. No matter the outcome of the matchup against Green Bay, people have already made up their minds. If they win, it’s because of the refs and because Rodgers was hurt. If they lose, Romo choked. Fans and analysts will find a way to minimize what the Cowboys have done this season, no matter the game… no matter the outcome. Nobody outside of the Cowboys fan base and organization thought they’d be here. Nobody. So when the haters talk, we’ll just smile. We know, from pre-season predictions, how much their opinions are really worth.
