City Councilman Lee Vogler discredits the article. He says the author has never even been to Danville and is using outdated census data from 2010 that doesnt take into account the major improvements the town has seen since then. Vogler says he thinks many people just dont realize how much the city has to offer. Our mountain bike trail was ranked number one in Virginia. One of the top 25 in the world, actually. Our Riverwalk Trail gets bigger and bigger each year, gets thousands of people using it every year. We have a new downtown plaza, JTI Fountain, they have free concerts all through the summer, said Vogler. Some other points not mentioned in the story: we have the annual Bright Leaf Brew Fest which keeps getting bigger, we have the Danville Science Center and the only Digital Dome Theatre in the region, we have LIVE music almost every night of the week in #DanvilleVA, including our restaurants in the River District. We have dozens of 5ks and marathons throughout the year. There is kayaking and other river activities. Multiple wine festivals each year. I could go on and on. There is plenty to do here if people are willing to look. And were constantly trying to add more, and we will. #OnlyInDanville
