City of Casey are you able to follow in the footsteps and great example of Maroondah City Council?... Less Roundup is better for everyone and everything. City of Casey please can you investigate using steam not Roundup to kill weeds (or find another non-toxic way to deal with them). From Weedsteamers: Fantastic news! Weedsteamers have just started a new non-toxic steam weeding pilot program with Maroondah City Council. Congratulations Maroondah for your proactive leadership. The program involves two important areas that feed into the head waters of Mullum Mullum Creek, thus reducing the toxic chemical run off into this sensitive environment. One area is Larissa Park and its water sensitive urban design (WSUD) area and park land at Larissa Ave, Ringwood and the other is Mc Adam SQ and its WSUD in Croydon. Although the pilot program has just started we have already received some great feed back from passing residents so we hope that Maroondah City Council will expand their non-chemical program and is destined for a future of non-toxic greatness. If you are wondering how Maroondah got started, the whole process was championed by one very committed and well informed council worker. He stuck his neck out and made it happen!
