American music - born and raised up in the American South: Hello all. Im reaching out to folks who I believe might be interested in this event, and the cause. I volunteer for a non-profit called the Southern Roots Music Foundation. Our mission is to provide aid to local music legends in need. Currently, both Drink Small, The Blues Doctor, and Skip Pearson, SCs official Jazz Ambassador are dealing with overwhelming health issues and are struggling to pay their medical bills. We have planned a concert as part of this years Jazz Under the Stars week to benefit them. It will be Sunday night at 7pm at Le Cafe Jazz at the top of Finlay Park. These two SC music icons, who have been friends for over 50 years, will be playing live together for the first time in a very long time, and for what we hope will not be the last time. All proceeds for this event will go to their health care. It is going to be an incredible and historic show. Columbias hottest new restaurant Bourbon will be the food vendor, beer and wine will be available, and there will be a silent auction for instruments autographed by the artists. These men are not only incredible musicians who have made important contributions to American Music, but they are my friends and mentors. I owe them both a debt I cannot possibly repay, as does much of our music community.
