Claremont ParkWatch Update It was beautiful day at Claremont Park this past weekend. On Saturday and Sunday families and Little Leaguers were on hand to enjoy the sunny day and mild temperatures. A family oriented atmosphere was pervasive, so characteristic of our great neighborhood resource. Several needed improvements were noted: · that the turf has holes that could result in a twisted ankle; · some minor trash was noted, but nothing that a few neighbors with pick up sticks couldn’t handle with ease; · bathrooms need paint and complete eradication of graffiti; · and there is a need to refinish tennis court surfaces and the windbreak. A time was recalled, just four short years ago, when gang-related drug crews routinely used this park as a base of day and night operations, the area under the play equipment was bare dirt, and dog poop was a more likely encounter than another mom or dad or a family picnic.
