Clark has been awarded a $1.45 million grant from the John Templeton Foundation to study how universities around the world can help students find a strong sense of purpose. “Education—especially college—should be both a support and an opportunity for young people to explore and commit to a life purpose,” said Shauna Moran, research assistant professor of psychology and the principal investigator on the study. “A life purpose provides direction and momentum for a person’s life and serves as a beacon for how the person can contribute positively to his or her community.”
