Classmate from 1979 Walter C Deakyne November 16 1960 August 23 2006 Walter Clifton Deakyne, III, Dea age 45, of Rehoboth Beach, DE died Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE. He was born in New York City, NY to the late Walter Clifton and Mary Louise (Richardson) Deakyne, Jr. of Henlopen Acres, DE. Mr. Deakyne played football for Cape Henlopen High School where he graduated in 1979. He was a great athelete, an avid hunter, and loved riding motorcycles. Mr. Deakyne was also a graduate of the University of Delaware in 1983 with a BS in Criminal Justice. He was a former real estate agent for Jack Lingo Realtor. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Dina Deakyne & husband Josh Wharton of Lewes, DE; a niece, Lauren Johnson of Lewes, DE; two uncles, Dr. David Deakyne & wife Carol of Smyrna, DE and Dr. Frederick Cottrell & wife Sally of Wilmington, DE; four cousins, Dr. David Deakyne, Jr. & wife Stacey of Smyrna, DE, Danielle Deakyne of Pittsburgh, PA, Frederick L. Cottrell, Esq. & wife Mariann of Wilmington, DE and Dr. Brian Simon & wife Pamela of Hockessin, DE; his grandfather, Samuel Gulley of Wilmington, DE and his two devoted labs, Luke & Mocha. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, August 27 at 2:00 PM at St. Georges Episcopal Chapel, Rt. 23, Angola, DE with Father Max Wolf officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Tunnell Cancer Center, 424 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958 or the SPCA, 326-A duPont Highway, Georgetown, DE 19947.
