Clay courts in my opinion are the best courts because the player can slide which is not possible on hard courts and cause more strain especially on the knees and the spine. The dust that comes with the wind is true but a minor problem compared to the strain on the joints of the hard court. However a player that learns to play on a hard court curiously suffers much less from these problems because his body adapts to the surface of the court. Tennis is to clay as soccer is to a grass playing field.
