Clayton Kershaw picked up his first-career postseason win last night in his sixth game (third start) in postseason play, allowing just one run on three hits in 7.0 innings. The 25-year-old struck out 12, the second-most Ks in Los Angeles postseason history behind Sandy Koufax’s 15 strikeouts in Game 1 of the 1963 World Series at New York, and at one point struck out six consecutive hitters, establishing a Dodger single-game postseason record and tying the all-time playoff record along with Homer Bailey (CIN, Oct. 9, 2012 vs. SF), Mike Hampton (ATL, Oct. 1, 2003 vs. CHC), Todd Worrell (STL, Oct. 24, 1985 vs. KC), Moe Drabowsky (BAL, Oct. 5, 1966 at LA) and Hod Eller (CIN, Oct. 6, 1919 at CWS). Source: Elias Sports Bureau. Six Dodgers had previously struck out six or more consecutive hitters, but those spanned multiple games (last: Tim Belcher, seven consecutive strikeouts 1988 NLCS vs. Mets).
