Cleve Backster (Feb 27, 1924 - June 24, 2013) I had the pleasure of attending a lecture by Cleve Backster about seven years ago. He talked candidly about the accidental discovery of his theory of primary perception -- the ability of plants to respond to other living organisms. Cleve Backster was a former CIA lie detector specialist. His book,Primary Perception: Biocommunication with Plants, Living Foods, and Human Cells, is an account of his experiments, in the 1960s, with simple devices used originally for basic polygraph testing. His experiments showed that cell samples from a donor, responded to the emotions of the donor simultaneously, over great distances, with no time lag. It is thought that theses simple experiments demonstrated quantum physics in action. There have been others who have allegedly debunked his findings since the 1970s. According to Backster, the scientists did not observe the proper scientific controls. And, therefore failed to duplicate his results. Of course, all of this ventures in a gray area, usually relegated to ESP, metaphysics, and the like. However, in an interview he states, I’m just offended at the idea that something so obvious and so easily observed as this is, could be, if it is, deliberately overlooked by people who claim to be scientists—that just doesn’t fit the definition of what a scientist is.” theepochtimes/n3/186834-the-cleve-backster-interview-looking-deeper-into-the-secret-life-of-plants-part-2-of-2/
