Closing in on finishing the third draft of the next Gamache book. Far less frightening (and far less work) than the first two drafts. Not structural - no big character changes. Fine tuning (and, it must be admitted, some thick tuning too). Its the small mistakes Im picking up on now, and also better able to add, or uncover, those grace notes. Trying to lighten up, not necessarily in mood or tone, but in trusting you and respecting you and knowing the last thing you want or need is to be spoon fed. Trying to strike that balance between giving you the info you need, and letting you fill in the rest. Were a great team! Gosh it was cold this past week. So cold that I added another week to our vacation in Feb in Jamaica. We normally go for 2 weeks, but I made it 1 week this year, not sure how Michael would be. then I thought - honestly, hell love it! Hate to think what might happen if the temp gets down to -30 again.
